Munich Laughter and ‘Sekundichka’ Reaction

The 51st Munich Security Conference was held from 6th to 8th February 2015. The speech by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, on February 7th, was interrupted three times with mocking laughter from the audience. Lavrov, who was speaking in Russian, reacted by saying 'sekundichka' (in Russian it means 'one second') and dispassionately tried to continue. The article discusses to what extent the case reflects different approaches of the EU, the USA, and the RF towards their reciprocal game-fictions concerning Ukraine.
